There is nothing fancy about this workstation, but it’s cheap and you can make it in about an hour. It's not as rough-and-tumble as a workbench, but perfect for assembling projects or using in an art studio. If you want to sit sometimes, it works perfectly with my Versatile Bar Stool. This is very lightweight and only requires four 2x4 studs to build the frame. You'll also need a couple pieces of plywood for the top and the back.

I just built a Bed Frame, sanded it down. Got my "Ebony" stain and brushed it on... on piece came out Exactly how I wanted, the other two sides not so much lol. Frustrating.

I’m going to make one but hold the leather and chamfer the faces. I think I have split resistant chuck of dogwood. The rule with plastic jacketed dead blow mallets is don’t hit anything smaller than the face or they’ll get cut.

It’s a lot easier to get high speed bits out of a drill index than trying to pick them out of bottom of a tiny compartment. My thick fingers would fail.

Very interesting. Wasn’t sure if it could provide the user with a cut list to work out how much sheet material of different thickness would be needed. Great stuff Steve.

Would a jigsaw cut a deep enough hole through a front door in order to install a cat door? Would I first need to drill a hole on the inner side of the template to get the saw blade in there. I have never used a jigsaw let alone any electrical tool. Still have my grandfather's hand drill from 125 years or more back.

I prefer push sticks that keep your hand at least a foot or more away from the blade. Trusting a piece of plastic between the blade and my fingers makes me nervous, somehow if you slip your hand is only a couple inches away from the blade.

Steve, Thank you once again for taking the "Stupid" out of woodworking....your videos and ideas are just what the rest of us mere mortals are into/appreciate that don't have $50K worth of tools and a dedicated 40" X 40" shop. Thank you for the tip on the casters, and fuck the rest of the negative commenters about your "ink" and not rounding over the edges more. Oh, and your Box Joint Jig set-up video from a while back, spot on as I made my first box joint drawer and it worked flawlessly, once again dead nuts simple. Keep up the great work and videos.

For those that are looking at his staining job in the examples and the one he is promoting looks either like shit or like there is no stain on it at all like at 7:05 stains just don't show up good on camera for some reason depending on the angle and grain of wood in combination with the type of stain and preconditioning. I just stained a red oak bench a deep dark Early American minwax and took some pictures where it looks like the glue absorbed into the pores and there are blotches of no stain and noticed half the bench looks like it's original color or even lighter.
